If you are considering the change. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SOMEOMNE TO TRAIN PEOPLE.

I had a need to go on line and go to a web site on a MAC. The URL was real simple massport.com. After about an hour of struggling with the most user unfriendly piece of equipment in the world, I gave up and shut the machine down. It was only about a 15 minute ride to a PC that I knew would work.

I never found a browser if Macs even have one. There were no program Icons on the desktop. I could not find a program list. I could not find a place to plug in a URL. The help screens were useless.

YOU NEED SOMEONE WHO KNOWS HOW TO NAVIGATE.

I completely agree with the need for orientation and training.

But I'm very surprised at your experience. I just now approached my
Mac as a new user who knows nothing. At the top of the screen is a
menu item named "Help". There is one option: Mac Help. People used to
Windows know how to use pull down menus, so that's a fair move. There
is a very obvious search field. Again, Windows users would know how
to type something into that. I typed "web browsing". The first
results was entitled "Browsing the World Wide Web with Safari" and
contained specific instructions as well as links to further
information. You must have been on a very oddly configured Macintosh.
