Dear Theron, and other esteemed colleagues:
You're absolutely right, on one level, and yet...
...I'm assuming that the point of this question is not a specific
organization's needs assessment. The responses it will yield will be
useful for workforce development.
If we're thinking in a general way about the tech skills that will be
useful for the nonprofit workers of the future, then this question is
a good tool for brainstorming. We need to think now about training.
We need to incorporate these skills into various curricula - not just
for support staff, but also for students in MSW, MPA, and MBA
programs.
