I responded to this off line, but because the thread has
continued, I will post here. Here's a possible list of the
Mass zip codes and legal jurisdictions from my own tables.
Some of the sources others have mentioned do have options
for alternate names for the zip postal address names.
Melissa data, who I like, falls into this category. A low
cost national source is http://w
ww.zipinfo.com/products/products.htm
I'm not sure, but a possible problem with these is that
having the alternate names doesn't necessarily tell who
which is the legal municipal name, which you might need,
say, for voter ID matching or something. On the other hand,
the problem with Steve W's original request is that some
zip codes span more than one municipality. In Mass, an
example is 02467. You really need to do street address
matching to be sure.
Anyhow, I didn't hear back from Steve W directly so I may
have had his address wrong.
