I'd like to know if anyone has had occasion to deal with someone who is "domain kiting" or "Cyber Squatting" a web domain.
While our nonprofit is a .org (www.pearlsbuck.org), the corresponding .com (www.pearlsbuck.com) domain is currently registered to a Canadian company which seems to be a domain warehousing company set up to conceal the identity of the registrant. The website is absurd, and there is evidence on the page that they are knowingly using content one could associate with our nonprofit organization.
I've done some preliminary research about domain dispute resolution but know very little about how a domain-name dispute claim actually plays out. I cannot devote enormous resources to the issue but do not want to let it slide due to my own lack of knowledge. Unfortunately, I am uninformed and do not know if pursuing a dispute would be in our interests.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
