Further clarification on buying Vista Licenses for Office 2007 from a TechSoup Stock Customer Service Rep.
Hi folks!
This is Anne, I'm a lead in the Customer Service department at TechSoup Stock. A co-worker who is a member forwarded me your postings, and thought it might be helpful if I jumped in to clarify.
Gavin is correct; while we are not yet offering licenses for Vista or for Office 2007, these upgrades are covered by Software Assurance. So if your organization requests an XP Upgrade or Office 2003, you will be able to upgrade to Vista and Office 2007, respectively. Software Assurance is active for 2 years from the date your order if fulfilled. For more information on Software Assurance and how to use it, please visit our website: http://www.techsoup.org/stock/ms_program_faq.asp#assurance .
It sounds like the TechSoup rep that you spoke with was addressing the question of when we will receive the actual licenses for Vista & Office 2007. I will be sure to remind the reps that they can suggest the option of purchasing older versions and upgrading through Software Assurance.
If you have any further questions that you would like to ask TechSoup Stock, be sure to visit the forums on our website or call our Customer Service line at 800-659-3579 ext 700.
Thanks,
Anne

>>If your SA has expired, you can could purchase new licenses via TechSoup of Office 2003. This would immediately qualify you for upgrade to Office 2007 - hence you could then download copies from the Open License site of the new version anyway.. Right now, for example, I see two license keys for the products I licensed - one for 2003 and one for 2007.>>
