Has everyone here figured out that moved the nptech website off of
krazy.com to its own domain?
http://nptech.info
For the last year and a half, this has been an available resource that
a number of people actually use - the place to go to get a lot of
nptech links if you don't want to set up your own aggregator. I think
it's a very useful web site for one that's hardly supervised, and I do
think that it could be more than just an aggregator with some TLC.
Anyone up for working on that?
What's interesting is that, since I moved it to its own domain, I now
have daily stats on visits. Before I had to try and untie them from
the overall krazy.com stats, and my main site really dominates there.
Since I moved it, the numbers have been higher than I would have
imagined. Today is going to be double or triple this trend, if the
drupal "who's logged on' indicator is reliable. At one point it
reported 125 guests. I don't know if someone blogged about the site
today (other than me), or if it's just related to the Skypecast
promoting interest.
Day Number of visits Pages Hits Bandwidth
20 Jan 2007 55 189 259 1.82 MB
21 Jan 2007 84 207 283 2.17 MB
22 Jan 2007 83 231 375 2.30 MB
Anyway, this website has an audience and great potential to be more
than it is. I'm committing to hosting it for the long term, but I
have to temper my commitment to promoting and actively cultivating it,
because, between my job and family, I'm already way over-committed. I
am seriously trying to change my employment circumstances and, if such
a thing as a manageable IT job is out there, then I might be able to
put more work into it. And, on that note, if anyone knows of a decent
position for a broadly-skilled, experienced CIO or IT Director in the
SF Bay Area, please let me know.
