I'm in the midst of creating small videos for my 400 users which I'm going to call "Tip of the Week". I'm using an amazing product called Camtasia Studio which records all the keyboard and mouse movements along with audio. The videos can be easily converted to other formats including flash. I created about 2 hours of video and posted them on our Intranet - this became our mandatory new employee training.
Now I'm going to take it one step further by creating the "Tip of the Week" which will include a link in an e-mail. The videos will be very short and include Office 2003 and perhaps some tips on our internal voicemail system.
This does lead into a larger discussion on collaboration: Here I am spending time and resources on this project. Is there not some kind of barter or tech swapping system amongst non-profits?? Surely what I'm creating could be useful at another non-profit, or perhaps someone already has something similar? Has someone already started an initiative allowing non-profits to leverage each others I.T. projects? Thanks,
Chris
P.S. If someone is interested in swapping videos, or some other tech projects, let me know.
