You can usually pick up Photoshop at rock bottom prices on ebay or Craigs List. (Student edit on or Last years model).

Might as well go with the pros.

(ISF) Advice for nonprofit transition, online fundraising

My fiance is a highly successful coach at a nonprofit fundraising telemarketing farm (Share Inc. -- a decent company that does phone fundraising for progressive nonprofits and political groups).

He made the transition from a successful career in sales/sales management to coaching phone fundraisers because he went through that transition, common to many of us, of finding he was not so motivated by personal income, or by increasing a corporate bottom line -- and wanted to help causes he believes in. He's shown he has a great set of transferable skills for training fundraising, and a fine sensitivity for the nonprofit fundraising culture.

Although he has enjoyed this job, he would rather work in a more stable and focused environment than Share, and is interested in moving into individual giving for a specific nonprofit at a more professional level. However, he's being told that he needs experience in online fundraising.

Now, from my point of view, managing the training and performance of phone pools and scripting phone campaigns is a HUGE challenge compared to online fundraising. But (beyond me drafting him as a volunteer for my nonprofit! *evil grin*) does anyone here have recommendations for a person trying to break into individual giving development with online tools?

(and of course, if anyone has leads on such positions in Boston or telecommuting, that's also most welcome!)

Many thanks!
