I'm happy to see the Chronicle establish the blog page. I hope it influences other national organizations, such as America's Promise, Points of Light, MENTOR, etc.
I've been part of non profit blog exchanges (I think the concept was started by Deborah) and I'm trying to organize a similar exchange among people who are part of volunteer-based tutor/mentor programs (volunteers, leaders, students, donors). You can read about it at http://tutormentor.blogspot.com
I'm doing this in conjunction with a place based conference I host in Chicago every May and November (http://www.tutormentorconference.org)
If any of you work with such programs and have a blog, please email me and join in this effort.

>>I agree with Gregg and am much more cynical about print publications talking about blogging. (Of course that didn't prevent me from running to have them include my blog!) I call it the daily installment of "making the blog the story" something the New York Times is doing constantly these days. Print publications need to remain relevant when you can basically find out everything long before their publication date. It is not that they are totally useless, but they are worried. It's the same with Time Magazine's Person of the Year last year. It was like begging. You, the ones who read blogs instead of our magazine... please read us again.>>
