Project Overview
Project Bread's food stamp eligibility calculator, hosted on www.gettingfoodstamps.org, helps members of the community enter information about their income and expenses and determine if they are eligible to receive food stamp benefits. The calculator is a homegrown tool developed with ColdFusion that requires infrequent but important upkeep. We are seeking a project-based web developer to update the calculator and provide technical support to the food stamp outreach team at Project Bread as needed.
Updates to the calculator occur approximately once per quarter. Updates may include, but are not limited to, adding questions or altering progressive steps through the calculator tool based on changes in food stamp regulation. Time commitment would be minimal, but technical knowledge of ColdFusion and data-driven sites is required. General knowledge of food stamps is preferred.

Based in East Boston, Project Bread is a nonprofit organization dedicated to alleviating, preventing, and ultimately ending hunger in Massachusetts. Project Bread sponsors the annual Walk for Hunger, runs the only statewide hotline for hungry people, funds 400 emergency food programs, develops hunger prevention programs, and manages programs to increase participation in federally funded nutrition programs such as school meals and food stamps.
