couple more thoughts Don
I would be helpful if there was a hosted installation of the
system,
that anyone can set up and account and manage data input
. this would benefit the remote emergency workers who may
not have a
server or server management facilities at hand when disaster
occurs
In these instances, it would be useful if the data could be
sent also
via mobile devices/sms, so to have an API already installed
for this
purpose would be smashing
I am just thinking of a situation where I have the data, and
I have a
mobile phone or a laptop
just thinking
(and its Sanjiva not Sanjay the guy from IBM I met last year
in Phuket)

>> Sahana is a humanitarian disaster aid application
so context of use is predominantly by small to medium-sized
NPO's, NGO's and Govt aid agencies during times of disaster
and recovery. We also promote use of Sahana as a
pre-disaster planning and prevention tool as the need for
such by responding groups and agencies is increasingly
recognised. The app can be run centrally, locally, or
remotely (on PDA's or notebooks) depending on needs, system
availabilities and communications capabilities. It is not
feasible to prioritise one methodology over another as the
nature of the disaster will dictate operational
methodologies.>>
