hate to ask the same thing again and again, but need professional input. i have AOL/DSL service (through COVAD) in NW DC four blocks from the MD line. the signal is inconsistent. an AOL/COVAD technician came & tested the lines, announced the signal to the house is steady tho coming in the 700s range because the house is too far from the central office to provide the full 1500's signal (hope i've got the jargon right). BUT they also said that signal is inconsistent from the box to the inside of the house (hence not their problem). this went on for months. then suddenly in early december, the signal was consistently ON for about two months. then just as suddenly, it started a new pattern -- mostly off during the day from early morning to about 8pm, then on steadily from 8pm on late into the night. i find this suspicious and wonder if there could be something else wrong - something that is the responsibility of AOL/COVAD. thoughts? thanks!!
