Hi Everyone -

Within the course of two days my daughter's AIM sn on her
laptop, and my AIM sn on my desktop, which are both part of
the same Verizon dsl wireless house account, were closed
because they had been opened on another computer. It is
intersession so we are both home and not using computers
anywhere else. This happened to her many times and she would
sign on again, she even changed her password but it happened
again. When it happened to me today I just turned off AIM.

But one of my students said we may have been infected by a
virus that sees our keystrokes, which is why changing
passwords did not help. Does anyone know anything about
this, is it true, and what do I do?

And my questions are also:

a) Does this mean someone knows everything I did from the
point they got access, or do they now know everything that
was already on my computer? I did not pay bills today for
fear of what might be happening, but then realized that
since the info is stored in my email accounts, they may
already know it since the keystrokes would have given them
login / password info for my email.

b) When I go into the office, since I bring my work back and
forth on my external, will I infect my office computer? (I
obviously will not open AIM on that computer.)

c) Is this now on my computer until I get rid of it, or only
when I am signed onto AIM?

I thought Verizon dsl had virus protection but now that
seems not to be very worthwhile if they do.

Thanks for any and all help or info!

Take care,

Ja Young
