Hi All,

I have a Crystal Reports question that is finally coming to
a critical mass in our reporting structure. I am have a good
basic command of Crystal but I need to know how to implement
some specific selection logic.

I need to pull a set of records based upon the status of one
of those records. So as an example, we are a health center,
and we are looking to track flu symptoms, I need to pull
every encounter (record) for a patient based upon one record
having the flu diagnosis.

We are currently using Crystal 8 (I know, I know) but my
hope is that this is standard SQL logic.

Please let me know if you can help or know a resource that
may be able to help.

Thank you,

Hi,

Selecting certain records through a Filter is a basic
capability of Crystal. No need to learn SQL. (You are trying
to show all patient records which have a related encounter
record where flu=yes).

Here is a link to one article on filters; (this page has
links to more info too) http://www.samspublishing.com/a
rticles/article.asp?p=330330&seqNum=2&rl=1

If Crystal is the tool of choice in your organization I
STRONGLY recommend taking formal training. It is a very
excellent and powerful tool, and it sounds like it is
important for your ability to analyze data. Training will
put the full breadth and power of the SW in your hands.

There are also some excellent user forums online that you
may want to get involved with. That is a great way to
supplement learning. Google Crystal Reports Discussion
Forums.

Good Luck
