Hi all,

I was wondering who of you has experience in using
sharepoint and what would the alternatives be?

The organization I manage, the Constellation for AIDS
Competence, is a global nonprofit and operates as a network
across the world. I am still not entirely sure what hosted
software would suit us best to share documents, calendar,
agendas etc. We have very little resources for this and no
human resources except for me (and I should be doing
ordinary management not IT...). It's a tricky choice... And
I have been struggling with the choice for months...

Looking forward to your help which is always extremely
useful!
Alex

Greetings Everyone:

My organization is using a WebOffice from WebEx that offers
many of the same features as SharePoint, but (I think) is
much more user friendly.

We purchased our product through a reseller who offers a 30
day free trial especially for non-profit organizations. The
WebOffice product offers document sharing (including
check-in/check-out), shared calendaring which can be
synchronized with Outlook/Outlook Express, announcements,
customizable databases, etc... After the 30 day trial the
price is $5 per person, per month. We subscribed on an
annual basis. You can sign up for a free 30 day trial from
the same reseller by following this link:

I would also mention that there are in fact Microsoft VAR's
who offer hosted versions of SharePoint, but I admit that I
didn't have a lot of success with it when we tried it for 30
days.

Hope this is useful information and Happy Holidays!
