Michael,

In most cases, this type of behavior is caused by a firewall
policy rule
that prevents access from the local subnet to the Proventia
M's
management IP. I recommend connecting to the M using the
serial console
(VT100, 9600 bps, 8-N-1), logging in as 'admin', and use the
'Proventia
Manager Access' item to add the IP address of the machine
you are
connecting from to the "IP Addresses" list. You
may also want to verify
the appliance's management IP settings under "Network
Maintenance" to
insure that they are configured correctly.

Please let me know if you continue experiencing issues after
trying
this.

Subject: [ISSForum] Proventia M10 how to make Transparent
Mode work?

I'm trying to get a M10 to work in transparent mode. I am
starting from
scratch with a complete reinstall, updating the firmware to
v3.10 I got
it
working once but could not get back into the management
console after I
did.
I think I used the wrong value for management IP address. I
set it to an
IP
in the subnet I'm trying deploy it on but it didn't work. I
have found
the
documentation to be very vague, this appliance was dropped
on my desk
over a
year ago to try and figure out and I lost patience with it
but have been
told to give it another shot for use at our other location.

Any help is much appreciated

Michael
