Simply deleting those directories should work, unless this behaviour
has changed in the new build system. Perhaps you could try just
moving them to another directory this way you can always move them
back later.

Will in the *new* system a similar way exists such as
--(disable|enable)-feature or --(disable|enable)-(server|desktop) ?!
