REVISED: Network Implementation Consultant - Piscataway, NJ

This is my direct client opening for a Network
Implementation Consultant - Piscataway, NJ. This is 1-year
contract position. The Hourly rate is 65-75/hr. MUST HAVE
SIGNIFICANT FINANCIAL EXPERIENCE (3+ Years)
 
In-house Network Implementation Consultant Requirements 
1. 3 years minimum hands-on and direct network
implementation experience with Cisco 6500, 2900 and 2800
series hardware 
2. Cisco CCNA required, and CCNP preferred 
3. Able to work off-hour shifts and weekends 
4. Able to travel locally to all data centers 
5. Hands-on and full understanding of cabling infrastructure
(copper and fiber) is a plus 

In-house Network Implementation Consultant Responsibilities

1. Work with Network Engineering and Implementation teams on
equipment orders; track, receive and inventory equipment 
2. Work with Network Engineering to build Cisco and other
network equipment configurations 
3. Oversee off-site equipment burn-in and staging process ?
configure, stage and test all equipment 
4. Create equipment interconnect spreadsheet utilizing
onsite structural cabling infrastructure per network and
cabling design 
5. Coordinate with construction GC (General Contractor) and
cable construction vendor on power and room ready before
equipment installations 
6. Oversee onsite cable contractor for equipment
installation and interconnect patching 
7. Work with GC on all power testing and commissioning after
equipment installation 
8. After contractor installation, test equipment for
interconnections, hardware issues, configuration standards,
and design functionalities 
9. Resolve all cabling connectivity, hardware and
configuration issues. Manage problem resolutions and
equipment RMA 
10. Work with engineering and operations groups on
pre-production testing and check-outs 
11. Coordinate with IT groups to schedule network equipment
online for production 
12. Create documentation for all network as-builds
(equipment inventory, drawings, interconnections,
configurations and production check-outs) 

Typical Day to Day Responsibilities (In Addition to Project,
But Not Limited To) 
1. Work with Network Engineering and Implementation teams on
retrofitting device configuration to conform to standards. 
2. Implement various network equipment from engineering
design and specifications to building configuration,
staging, connectivity patching, testing and production
turn-up. 
3. Produce network as-built documentation and handoff to
operations. 
4. Create VLANs and enter appropriate information into QIP.

5. Travel to various data centers as needed: 
a. New York City, NY 
b. Jersey City, NJ 
c. Livingston, NJ 
d. Cranford, NJ 
e. Piscataway, NJ 
6. Prepare and install copper and fiber cabling patching for
device turn-ups. 
7. Perform IOS code upgrades, if required. 
8. Support after hour and weekend work as required per
schedule changes. 
9. Work with Facilities Hardware group and help out with
their networking questions. 
10. Work with Network Implementation on inventory control by
applying asset tags on equipment, and produce documentation.

11. Follow up with Network Engineering regarding change
requests for any questions or issues about network design. 
12. Create and manage change tickets independently, and
abide by Change Management rules. 
13. Follow up immediately after a change request was
performed in the event of an outage or issues. Be
responsible and accountable for any necessary revisions to
the devices affected by his / her change.

temporary office in Piscataway, New Jersey
