you can configure jbpm to use JMS for this in a multi host
Java EE environment easily. You can look in the
jbpm-enterprise source code, there you find an example for
EJB 2, but it can be easily adopted to EJB 3 (because of
compatibility issues, jBPM 3 is is tied to Java 1.4).
