This already is the problem. You cannot rely on proprietary
API . 

In case the SPI/standard API is not sufficiently open we
might need to change that. However I need to understand your
use case better in order to give you a qualified answer.

Not every supported stack is necessarily using JAXB. So
setting JAXB properties might not be the right solution
anyway.
