If I could add my 2c:
My preference would be for a "simple search"
single textbox on the top
of every page (same place as the existing search link is
now) for a
search across all fields ("google style") and then
next to it have the
current link that is in 2.1 now, but just rename it as
"advanced search"
what do you think?
