Hi,
I am currently looking for a new jabber client.

Maybe Coccinella? Psi has Jingle support somewhere in SVN
but not in a
released version.
Also, what do you mean by "encryption"?

Hi, thanks for reading.

Afaik there is no encryption for jingle.

I mean like:
- SSL for Client to Server
- OTR for end to end encryption for secure and authenticated
1 to 1 chats
- or OpenPGP for mails
Over insecure networks a man in the middle can log all the
traffic, but
I don`t want him to be able to intercept any calls.

You want encryption of the signalling/negotiation or
encryption of the
media traffic or both? I assume both.

All the clients do that.

That doesn't all traffic (which you need to encrypt the
Jingle
signalling exchanges), only message body text.

That doesn't encrypt all traffic either, just message body
text.

Correct. That's why we are working on an end-to-end
encryption
technology that encrypts the entire packet. It's called
encrypted
sessions. It should be supported in Gajim (not sure if that
code has
been released yet).

We have E2E encryption in the released Gajim but I don't
know
whether it is the "correct" variant. I thought
that the current way
of E2E is more or less provisional and the XMPP community
still has
to settle on a standard.
Tschö,
Torsten.

That's true. I'm hard at work on Jingle right now, but after
I finish
that I'll look into e2e encryption again (we would like to
investigate
the possibility of using application-layer TLS etc. -- it's
a long
story, join the standards xmpp.org list if you're
interested in
discussing it...).

Well, I think the server will always know who is
communicating with who.
I don`t think it`s "cool", but this can not be
stopped. But I
appreciate that most servers support SSL and _only_ the
server knows
who is communicating with who.
The more important thing is encryption of the media traffic.
That was
the main point of asking here.
I guess, currently there is no such client?
