Hello all,

I am looking for an alternative to commercial IM Server software. ; Jabberd looks pretty good so far.  The problem is that when looking at all the docs I see, they say that the windows port is not included in this document.  Where can I find some info on the windows port?  I am going to be installing on 2000 or 2003 server, is this ill advised, or is there a better solution for me?  Sorry for the newb questions, but I just don’t see much info for windows.

Thanks so much

I have both installed wildfire and ejabberd once on a
windows based
platform. Both worked. As far as i know wildfire doesn't
support virtual
domains but ejabberd does. They both have a webbased
management system which
is handy on windows based platforms (jabberd2 works with
config files)Both
seem to be good applications.

There is a possibility to test ejabberd from disk, somewhere
on the page of
ejabberd you can download some kind of iso file. Burn it and
start it up.
look if you like ejabberd. This saves you a lot trouble
installing erlang
etc.

Oliver

In the latest, the Windows binary includes the needed parts
of Erlang and
other libraries. So, you don't need to install Erlang
separately.
