AW: Strange: Slide Server Getting hang, No reason

Hi Aslam,

I did some tests some time ago and I encountered a possible
memory leak
within the Slide server implementation. At least, Tomcat
with Slide runs
out of memory after some time of heavily uploading/removing
with one
client(!) in many different directories. I tried with the
newest Slide
release (not CVS!) and a new Tomcat 5.5 and I tried using
the bundled
version. After the OutOfMemmory, the server behaviour was
unpredictable,
like not responding for incoming requests.

Watch the tomcats logfile for an OutOfMemory error. I didn't
track this
down further more, but I could see the VM memory increase
constantly
using JConsole and an increasing part was not garbage
collected.

I tried the same tests with Tomcat and Apache (without
Slide) with no
problems at all.

AFAIR, there are two open Bugs in Bugzilla dealing with
OutOfMemory but
they are pretty old. If I will have some time in the near
future, I will
try to provide a testcase or track this issue further down
by myself.
