getLockDiscovery() method

 I need to know how the method getLockDiscovery() works.

if i have a collection, this method returns all the active
locks in the
folder( for example lock on resource x, lock on resource
y...)?

I have to know all the active locks in a folder and
subfolder for preventing
from deleting a dir within active locks.
