Is parsing a query string with Javascript pointless?

Yeah, you're right York. That's the way I've been doing
it,
server-side and that. I might try one more time using
Javascript, by
dynamically changing the stylesheet based on the query
string, as I
could then put this function in the <head> tags.
However, this stills leaves me with my first question,
namely is
parsing the query string with Javascript pointless? I
can't think of
any examples where the query string would be useful
client-side.
