createElementNS() function

Hi
In case your html page consists of frameset, function
getElementsByTagName from tag 'body' return null. And
another reason
can  be: your javascript code is running before all document
is loaded.
For more exact answer I need more details: HTML code of the
page, all
js and how it's attached to document.
