I have a page on which I am retriving the values from
database and
displaying against a check box as shown below

So this is giving me an array of check boxes.

check box name for main heading is 'type' and check box
against
subheading is 'category'.

Now what I want is when I tick any of the text boxes against
main
heading (eg. 'Residential'); all check boxes against
subheadings under
that heading  should be disabled.

Some one please help me in this.

  Residential
Bungalow
Apartment
Sea side villas
Row House
Pent House
Farm House
Commercial        Restaurants
Hotel
Office
Resorts
Building
Factory
ATM
Showroom
Hall
Bank Premises
Call Center
Shop
Mall
Land        Agriculture

Try using a set of radio buttons instead of checkboxes. This
can be done 
in the main HTML part of your form. Only 1 radio button can
be clicked 
at any one time.
