Thread: Is there code to lock your Source

Is there code to lock your Source

I was wondering if there was a code to block people from viewing your source
code?
I am asking because I have absolute links and I don't want them viewed to be
copied. I realize now I need to change them all to relative links. I only
just learned that after tons of pages written with absolute links.
So, I would like to lock my source up so I can take my time to change the
links to relative links.
Thank you.

dear ann & all,

i'm new to this group, but i have something to share about ann problems.
have you ever know webmaster toolbar for mozilla or firefox, everyone
can "see" your code easily with just a single click. no matter you use
absolute or relative, this "feature" still can get your code.

so the best thing to do it, just following yahoo developers, make all
of their code into single line .
i just download aptana, very nice jscript ide, it has that feature.

The obfuscators usually just change all your identifiers to single
letters and make it slightly more difficult to figure out. Any hacker
worth a cent can get around those changes.

If I had your problem I would write a script to change the links. It's
not that hard. You might even google for a tool that changes absolute
paths to relative paths. I am a big fan of Unix command line
utilities, such as sed. I regularly use Cygwin to run shell scripts on
my Windows machines. I have a simple script that pretty much does what
you want, but without Cygwin, you are out of luck.
