Uh, ahh, after deleting ~/.penrose/config.xml, which was
leftover from
a test with pensrose-studio 1.2.1, I could finally start,
add a
connection and connect!

P.S.: I still would be intersted in building it from
repository and
running inside eclipse 3.3.
