Used to use various bits (JXPanel, JXDatePicker, Bindings)
extensively,
now replacing the various components with a combination of
in-house code
and components from other libraries.

I just don't have the time or inclination to keep
maintaining my own
private forks and builds of SwingX for production projects.

What were the reasons for your forks? Bug fixes,
enhancements, just needed something different than we are
providing?

Been very close to doing that as well, especially when the
JXDatePicker suddently got its time component reset -
breaking applications that relied on JXDatePicker actually
just wrapping a Date. I resisted though and modified the
requirments of my applications instead, like you I don't
have the time to maintain a private fork of SwingX - or any
other external and parallel developed artifact for that
matter. Tried that with JFreeChart and it's just too much
trouble.
