The Contract Web Development Technologist provides technical guidance and expertise throughout full lifecycle web development of ROI-based interactive technology solutions. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with AA|RF̵7;s Creative, User Experience, and Delivery teams to implement sophisticated, cutting-edge technologies to help clients achieve their mission critical business objectives. You’ll provide technical guidance and consulting to clients, helping them understand key technology tradeoffs and make informed decisions.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

Work with large-scale architectures, including transactional systems, content management systems, or portal development, using standard-based web technologies such as web services XML, J2EE and .NET

Serve as a critical member of mid to large size project teams through full lifecycle including requirements gathering, technical assessments, package evaluation, technical design, development, knowledge transfer, launch, and support

Translate business and functional requirements (business process models and use cases) into detailed technical design from system architecture down to code-level design

Work with object-oriented and pattern concepts (e.g., abstraction, encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism, and model view controller)

Identify the hardware and software components an application will use for implementation

Provide guidance on how to appropriately implement application components

Provide expert knowledge of technical and middleware architecture

Provide guidance throughout the development process to ensure code is developed to specification

Prepare technical and middleware architecture deliverables in accordance with standards and methodologies consistent with the target business architecture

Resolve and work on issues across multiple functional areas

Ensure coordination and effectiveness of all components and activities

Work with alliances and partnerships to ensure deep understanding and business development of core technologies

Apply broad in-depth business and technical knowledge to establish technical direction and priority

Facilitate technical workgroup meetings

Research new products and technologies to determine fit with the firm's application architecture

Participate in recruiting, business development activities and meetings and/or colleagues’ performance management

Work with design patterns, multi-tier enterprise system architecture (integration, security, data, application, and system architectures)

Identify architecturally significant requirements and their ramifications

Research new products and technologies

Identify opportunities to grow AA-RF’s business portfolio

Required Skills

 

 

5-7 years experience with Web development

Strong server-side Java/J2EE development experience with mid to large scale web projects

Experience maintaining and supporting existing architecture & moving the current architecture into a new Struts/Tiles based framework

Experience with large transaction volume oriented systems preferred

Must be willing to work in White Plains, NY 4-5 days/week, and work overtime as needed to meet aggressive deadlines

Distributed object development

IBM Websphere Portal, BEA Portal, ATG, Portal, WebLogic or .NET, Microsoft, Interwoven, Documentum, Macromedia, TeamSite, Plumtree, J2EE

Design methodologies (OOA/OOD/OOP, RUP or UML)

Content management systems

Security and single sign on

Enterprise systems integration

Object-oriented development methods (e.g., Rational Unified Process, OPEN, Booch, OMT, Objectory, Design by Contract, Responsibility Driven Design)

Performance tuning in the J2EE or Microsoft space

Design patterns, integration patterns, enterprise design patterns and capacity planning

 

Qualifications & Education

A passion for championing the latest interactive technology

Able to clearly articulate technology direction and considerations

Experience in a consulting environment and/or professional services organization

Able to define and execute a technology strategy

Strong consultative communication skills, including documentation and writing

A professional demeanor

A team-based approach and ability to work effectively with diverse, interdisciplinary colleagues

Highly self-directed

Able to multitask with incomplete or minimal direction

Able to ensure the web application is developed to specification

Ability to mentor and advise junior team members

A B.S. or M.S in Computer Science or a related degree
