TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER
Lead a team with technical and business members in the
design, development
and modification of custom software. 
The project manager role is critical to the organization and
involves
multiple developers and analysts. 
The project manager is expected to have a broad range of
internet
development technology knowledge. 
Must have organizational experience leading a technical team
of Java
developers, and have project management skills leading small
to large
projects. 
The project manager is expected to manage projects on time,
within budget
and meet customer expectations. 

Responsibilities:
* Create project plans; identify risks, issues list, action
items, and
weekly status reports as well as adhere to internal project
methodologies.
* Identify and resolve project issues and risks, including
tracking,
escalation and mitigation.
* Manage, integrate and balance resource requirements within
the project and
between this project and others at the company where
required.
* Report project progress to senior management and
stakeholders, identifying
issues and resolutions.
* Supervise performance and professional development for
technical members
of the team.
* Build good team atmosphere by developing positive working
relationships
with team members and other departments.
* Implement and support company objectives and decisions.
* Will resolve critical issues and technical problems. 
* Works with business group to define product requirements;
works with other
functional areas as necessary.

Project Management Skills & Experience
* Demonstrated strength in project management methodology
and practice.
* Must have strong, structured project leadership
experience.
* At least 5 years experience as a project manager leading
an object
oriented technical development staff. Does not need to be
Java; could be
another object oriented language such as C++, Smalltalk or
.net. (However,
Java is strongly preferred.)
* Needs to have managed teams that built something new or
developed a
substantial module from start to finish * major internal
project is OK.
Implementing 3rd party systems is not enough. 
* Project managed team sizes of 5 * 10 developers. 

Development & Technical Experience
* Previous hands-on development experience is required;
object oriented
development experience is required for one opening; other
technical
experience is fine for the other but OO is still preferred.
* Understanding of object oriented development techniques
such as object
inheritance, encapsulation and object reuse. 
* Knowledge of relational database theory and experience
with a relational
database product.

Other
* Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related
discipline.
* Capability to understand customer application use from the
customer*s
perspective.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and
planning skills.
* Ability to learn, understand and coach on the technical
details of
projects. 
* Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Project.
* MBA a plus

Preferred:
* Previous experience developing in Java on new development.

* Experience managing large projects doing new development. 
* PMP Certification a plus.
