Description:

DBA is required for a data warehouse conversion project focusing on the separation of a shared system and integration of a merged company. The DBA will implement and maintain the database objects for the applications of a medical device sales and marketing data warehouse and its data marts.

Key Job Responsibilities
- Design & Architecture - Suggest and improve systems design and architecture. Establish industry standard best practices/processes
- Performance Tuning - Involved with performance tuning the systems to achieve optimal performance for computational intensive applications and providing complex query performance tuning and consultancy, and maintenance of ERWin-based data models.
- Communication - Ability to work with internal DW technical teams as well as operations and infrastructure teams
- Administration - Responsible for administering data warehouses. This includes trouble-shooting, shell scripting, basic PERL coding, system performance monitoring, system sizing, system integration, upgrades, migration implementation, and performance diagnostics.
- Security - maintaining application-level DB objects, application level storage management while ensuring proper security
- Documentation : Ability to document the above

- Minimum of 5+ years Oracle DBA in Data Warehousing environment with 2+ years on AIX environment. - Unix scripts and file structures - SQL knowledge of PL/SQL (procedures, functions, etc.) - Knowledge of DW Design and its impact on performance - Able to install, configure and tune Oracle RDBMS software and Oracle Replication / Standby system software - Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred. - Demonstrated Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skills in DBA Methodologies – Physical and logical architectural, Integration, Regression, Performance, Migration/Operational Readiness - Demonstrated, strong working knowledge of fundamental Data Warehousing concepts, including, but not limited to: Relational and Dimensional Data Models; Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) design and coding; Data Quality Analysis and Data Warehouse Quality Assurance. - Ability to perform SQL coding and assist developers with SQL questions, including the areas of functionality and performance - Proven ability to resolve problems quickly; document issues from production problems, propose solutions and implement them. - Experience in implementing DR solution for Data Warehousing systems.
