Networking 2 computers to use PC Relocator

I want to use PC Relocator to migrate the stuff from my old (Win 98se
pentium) computer to my new (Win XP Home AMD) computer and have followed
the instructions in the PC Relocator manual but I cannot get them to see
each other. I have gotten as far as the new computer being able to
successfully ping the old computer but the old one cannot ping the new
one successfully.

I have manually set the IP addresses and subnet masks as directed,
disabled all the antivirus, firewall, and just about every other type of
software running, and have gone so far as to run the new XP computer in
Safe Mode with Networking to try to eliminate any problems.

Any suggestions on where I should look to try to solve this?

Did they supply you with the connecting cable? If not, I would
imagine it has to be a CAT5-type "crossover" cable, not just a
regular one.

Are they both in the same Workgroup?

Did you contact them, or look on their website for help?
