I have run into this problem too, when I am working through
Firefox. When I
move to IE, I can get the site I'm looking for. Maybe
Firefox has a problem
with the particular sites...

I have a wired network with a cable modem, router and two
computers running
XP Home. On my computer I have both Internet Explorer and
Firefox, both
respond the same. I can access almost any website but there
are a few
(always the same ones) that respond with "The page
cannot be displayed".
There seems to be no pattern to the failing sites. My
wife's computer can
display them, so it is not in the network router or modem.
I have turned
off the firewall, (I use XPs firewall) with no change. A
tech from the
websites that won't display led me through deleting temp
files and cookies
and we reset IE to its defaults. Still no change. It is
always the same
sites that won't display.
Any ideas what causes this?
