Hi Barbara
One of the first computers that I bought I bought from a local shop
so that I had support in driving distance.
He burned in my PC for several days and I went in to pick it up.
I was excited. It was sitting on the bench and everything worked
fine.
As I was walking out I saw a different keyboard that I liked better.
He said I could trade my keyboard and $20 for the other one. I did.
When I got home and fired it up a message appeared that my keyboard
was no good (something like that). I called the guy up and he didn't
want to bother because it was working when I left the shop. He agreed
that I could bring it in.
I loaded it back up in may car, drove there and reassembled it on his
bench. When I plugged in the keyboard this time I could feel a click
as it went in. The PC worked fine and I felt dumb..
Anyway that is why I asked the questions. I am curious, did you get
a message at boot up that the keyboard was unplugged ?

Re: Keyboard freeze
Barbara when you say "nothing", does the computer respond to F8 at
boot up ?, etc..
Did you do the system restore solely by mouse clicks ?
When you boot does the PC tell you that there is no keyboard
attached ?
