Hi Joyce
If you have Word I assume that you have PowerPoint.
I use PowerPoint all of the time to marry images and text.
With PowerPoint you just paste an object (picture, text, etc.) to
the page (slide) and then move it around and resize to match the other
objects. Word frustrates me because it is always trying to outsmart
me. Too much interference.
I hate to answer "a problem with Word" with "try something else.."
but I think you will like how easy it is for presentations.
If you have any questions, please ask.

it locks up, then I would consider what is running along with MS Word.

then insert into the brochure. Or if they are large, shrink them
somewhat.

That is my best guess.
