Hello Group,
If everything goes well, I should have my Time Warner cable Internet service sometime this coming week, yet I was wondering if Time Warner has some way for their customers to access Internet service while away from home (i.e. when you go on vacation)? I do know that with my current AT&T/Yahoo DSL service, they do provide you with a way to access the Internet via dial-up . . . which is a small pain, because you have set-up the computer you want to use (away from home) so that it can have dial-up Internet access. Since I visit my father back east on a regular basis, I set up his computer to gain Internet access, since he does not use the Internet. Since I never liked lugging a laptop around while flying, I mainly just go to Kinko’s and pay to use their high speed Internet. I would use Kinko’s whenever I go to visit my father (just to get away from the SLOOOOOOOW dial up service I am
restricted to
by using the AT&T/Yahoo dial-up Internet service), but the closest Kinko’s to my father’s house is 32 miles away (since he lives in a rural area).
Now that I am getting Time Warner cable Internet, do they have an option to gain Internet access while away from home? However I do know that with the popularity of people taking their laptops EVERYWHERE and with free WiFi service in so many places, the need to have Internet access on a desktop (while away from home) may just be a thing of the past. Yet I am curious to know if Time Warner has a way for their customers to gain Internet access while away from home?
Any answers will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Everyone!
Wilson
