Joyce, there may be a way to update the old version of AVG anti-virus, by putting the whole extracted definition file into the program folder, as can be done with previous versions of Ad-Aware. But, with an anti-virus, that is too much trouble for me, as it should be done daily. So, I am all set to install Avast. 20,000,000 users can't be wrong, I guess. Very highly rated by users and testers. TPIR. It is in the WFL section.

Download and Save soon. When ready, log off the net. Uninstall AVG. Search for associated files, and delete. Then install Avast. Go to Avast site and update.

One more thing.....are you all  doing away with the AVG or ?
Just got a notice that after the 31st it will go bye bye if I don't upgrade!!
