I've posted this before and have not gotten an adequate
response. Mousekeys under Windoze works like this - Once the
mousekeys are active, the NUMLOCK KEY toggles the mousekey
behavior. This is absolutely necessary for handicapped
people to play games (usually this toggles the
movement/pointer function).
Under the many *NIX flavors out there, this simple and
effective toggle has been turned into a monster. You need to
use the Shift-Numlock combo - and that switches the entire
AccessX stuff off! IOW, someone that can only use ONE finger
has a hard time turning it back on (Shift-Numlock a second
time does nothing - AccessX is already turned off).
SO lets compare Windoze and KDE
1. Windoze - To toggle between movement and pointer actions
in games, it takes a single toggle of the NumLock key.
2. Linux - You need to do a Shift-Numlock - which shuts
AccessX functions (including ToggleKeys). If you can't
restart AccessX by the Shift-Alt-Numlock combo, then the 5
hits of the Shift key MIGHT work.
SO in a game where you move your tank and then switch to
pointer for targeting mode - you get to fire ONCE, before
the long and tedious key combo MAKES YOU LOSE THE GAME.
