Dear KDE Team,

I have found that there are not very many KDE/Qt
applications for tablet PC's.
One that I sorely miss is a handwriting recognition
software.

Are there any plans of developing tools for Tablet PC's? And
if so, how can I
get involved?

Thanks!

Try KDE-devel ;)

And, I don't see any app for Tablet PC's.

You can help by building the app or donate your PC to us :P

Hi Dariel,

Thanks for your comments. They are not really at home on
this list. For
wish-list items that you can decribe in detail, the best
place is actually
bugs.kde.org, our bug tracker. You can enter items with
priority "wish list"
for such things. They need to be relatively specific,
though.

My initial reaction is "that needs to be one level
below KDE, in X11", at
least as far as the handwriting recognition part goes.
Searching for "linux
handwriting recognition" does yield lots of hits, but
nothing particularly
recent.

Well, kde-develkde.org is a good place to get started
with development
questions and for proposing new projects. Make sure you have
a working KDE4
compilation environment first -- check out techbase.kde.org
for that.

Dear KDE Team,

Thanks so much for your quick responses.

Sorry if I posted in the wrong mailing list, I'm new to the
KDE community.
I'll take a look at the other mailing lists.

There are tools for X, such as Linux wacom-tools, that helps
gets the stylus
working. But as far as I know, nothing for handwriting
recognition.

Anyways, I'll keep my eyes open.

Thanks a lot everyone.
