Hello:

I have a problem in the playlist in amaroK:

1. I have the Jackson 5 Gold Album and have 2 CDs, so I tag Album with "Jackson 5 Gold Album"; in the 2 cds.

2. Disc Number Tag, is tag "1" in the fist CD and the second with "2",

3. The tag "track number" in the first cd 1,2,3,etc and the same
in the second (so I have 2 tags with the track number 1 BUT diferent Disc number)

4. When I add the album (2 cds) in my play list start with the first track of the first disc. then change to the first track of the SECOND cd.
and then back to the first track of the first CD (and loop forever in that 2 tracks), this is WORNG

Hope you people understand my error (I'm from colombia so my english is poor)

This is not a tiny problem becouse that loop in that 2 tracks is CRAZY... :S

Uhm, I personally don't understand at all what the problem
is. Is it
that amarok loops between these two tracks all by itself? If
not explain
exactly what you did, which buttons you pressed, what
happened and what
you expected to happen.

Apart from that: This is the wrong list, amarok has its own
mailing
list. See https://

hello kde developers

im having a problem with the amarok, everytime i add an album to the reproduction list that have more than 1 cd, the music player reproduced the 1st song from the 1st cd then jump over to the 1st song from the 2nd cd, then goes back to the 1st song of the 1st cd again, and so & so instead of reproduce the 2nd song of the 1st cd.

i think that amarok should recognize that the next song belongs to the same cd of the current song and of the same album.

Try this:

1. take 4 mp3 files and put it in a folder
2. Tag the files with the album "DEMO"
3. Tag 2 files with disc number 1 and track number 1 and 2
4. Tag 2 other files with disc number 2 and track number 1 and 2
5. Add this 4 files to the playlist and play in "Random Album"; mode

What my amarok does is play the frist track then jump to the 1 track with the tag cd numer 2 and GO BACK to the 1 track with the cd number 1 and loop forever.

See this files with the tags I use:
http://www.mantistechs.com/MUSICA/

download and put it in your playlist in "Random Album"; and "Repeat Playlist" mode and see amaroK.

I understand that.

However, there's no need to send these issue to this list.
AmaroK has it's
own mailing list (this is NOT it), forum, and IRC channel.
I noticed your
bug was marked as resolved: works for me, and I would guess
you aren't
happy with that resolution. (I'm not either, I think Mark
Kretschmann
misunderstood what you are trying to do.)

However, part of this is your description of the problem.
It's very
confusing for me to read -- I'm guessing English isn't your
native
language? Something like this might be better: (feel free
to use if you
think it describes your problem)

My set-up:
I own a 2 CD album. I've ripped the track and correctly
tagged them. In
particular, the first song on the first CD has tags like: {
'Track'
=> '1', 'Album' => 'My Album Title', 'Disc Number'
=> '1' } and the first
song on the second CD has tags like: { 'Track' => '1',
'Album' => 'My
Album Title', 'Disc Number' => '2' }.

What I'm doing:
Add the first two songs for each disk in this album to the
play list.
(Larger playlists exhibit similar behavior, but this is a
small test case
that shows the problem.)
Choose Mode -> Repeat -> Playlist
Choose Mode -> Random -> Album
Start playback

What happens:
The first song from the first CD plays, then the first song
from the
*second* CD plays, then the *first* song of the *first* CD
repeats. The
first song from each disc repeats ad inf.; other songs from
any CD in the
album never gets played!

What I expected to happen:
The first song from the first CD plays, then the remaining
songs from the
*first* CD plays, then the first song of the *second* CD
plays followed by
the remaining songs from the second CD. Finally, another
album is choosen
at random and plays etc. (In the 4-song, test playlist I've
described, the
album would repeat since it's in only album on the
playlist.)

Notes:
I know it's possible to play this album in order by using
Mode -> Random ->
Off, but it seems like AmaroK should be able to determine
the order of
this album in Mode -> Random -> Album as well -- I
often queue up many,
many albums in Random Album mode and it seems silly (I might
even go so
far as to say it's a usability issue) to have to take
specific action when
I'm adding a properly tagged multi-CD album to the playlist
in this mode.

Hello

You are right English is not my native language, I'm happy that somebody understand my problem, but if Mark think is "trifles", well... I'm not the developer, so let's close this case. The status is RESOLVED.

Bye,

MY

PD: for the next time I'll use the amarok mailing.
