Hello everyone,
I would like to officially announce the Weather Engine for
Plasma.
You can find this in playground/plasma/engines/weather
There is now applet code yet, this will be started on this
week.
As of now, Two datasources (Ions) have been completed.
- Environment Canada's XML data - observation, 5 day
forecast, and other
information.
- NOAA's National Weather Service observation XML data.
If you would like to test the engine, Please use the
plasmaengineexplorer
tool. The format to get weather information for a place is
as follows:
City Name, Short Province/State name. For example,
Winnipeg, AB or Greater
Buffalo International Airport, NY. currently case
sensitive.
I will be adding some documentation to for users to create
their own
Datasources for the engine soon.
