Microsoft image file format

Hi,
Mart gave me this link this morning on irc:

It seems that microsoft is willing to introduce a new
graphic file format, but 
from the spec, they are going after TIFF.

Bwah. I read the discussion on the Gimp mailing list abou
this, and I'm not 
even sure whether I dare start reading the legalese.
