Thread: web calendar for non kolab users

web calendar for non kolab users

Hello list,

I am looking for a solution to share a kolab users calendar
to non kolab users.
The best way would be a web frontend.
The non Kolab user should be able to read entrys but not to
send emails or create entrys.

I think a total kolab independent user would be a problem
with imap authentication but maybe a "internal
account" or a "ressource account" could do
the trick ?!

I know horde could be a solution and is on a good way to be
stable, but I don't trust it yet.

Thanks,
Simon

There is no other web application that reads the Kolab
format besides
Horde. So you'll probably have to wait until you trust Horde
;)

Hello Simon,

This may be too ugly a hack for you, but here it goes.
KOrganizer which is what Kontact uses for calendaring, can
export to
ics. The ics can be made available on a web server.
Konqueror reads ics,
Safari reads ics, Firefox calendar plugin reads ics.
The export and upload to web server can be easily scripted,
so like I
said, ugly hack method but it would work.

Cheers,

Alex C.
