Apache does not start
country flaguser name

Hello,

I'm currently trying to get the kolab server up and running
on my opensuse 10.2 box.
I followed the instructions from the howto on the opensuse
website (http://en.opensuse.org/K
olab).

But when i tried to start the kolab server, i got this error
message:

Starting httpd2 (prefork) Syntax error on line 37 of
/etc/apache2/conf.d/kolab.conf:
Invalid command 'SSLRequireSSL', perhaps misspelled or
defined by a module not included in the server
configuration

The command line was:
/usr/sbin/httpd2-prefork -f /etc/apache2/httpd.conf -DSSL

        failed
ERROR: /etc/init.d/apache2 start failed
Run: /usr/sbin/kolab rc all stop
to stop all services

Any ideas how to solve this?

Thanks a lot
Lukasz

I don't have much of a clue about the Apache on OpenSUSE but
the error
message means that the SSL module was not activated in your
case. I
assume that the -DSSL switch is supposed to do that, but
without
knowing how your Apache is configured, I am unable to tell
what
exactly fails here.

Just as a note: the Kolab server has significantly better
support for
the OpenPKG platform. If you are using one of the native
versions you
usually will have to have in-depth knowledge of how to
handle postfix,
cyrus imap, slapd, amavis and apache.

I'm not saying this to discredit the native versions - as I
am also
maintainer of the native Gentoo port - but in
general the Kolab
experience will be more enjoyable on OpenPKG.

Cheers,

Gunnar

What do you have in the variable APACHE_SERVER_FLAGS
in /etc/sysconfig/apache2, there should only be:
APACHE_SERVER_FLAGS="SSL "

Which is about this line:
Also add the flag "SSL" to the APACHE_SERVER_FLAGS
variable
in /etc/sysconfig/apache2 file
on the webpage http://en.opensuse.org/K
olab
