| 2.1 to 2.2-beta-2 instructions? |
  Germany |
2007-10-22 03:41:30 |
Downloading 2.2-beta-2 for trying out horde just now, but
found this in the
README:
"Instructions for upgrading from Kolab server 2.0 or
2.1 will be added
in a future version of this document."
So any hints on how to go from 2.1 to 2.2-beta-2 WITH
horde?
Thanks for any help, Joh

THe wiki says:
"./install-kolab.sh -F -H"
But I don't want a new install - I want to upgrade ...

You can try it, maybe it works with the changes to
install-kolab.sh
I added before the beta2 release, but it did not work out of
the box
before and I did not test it.

as the README states, upgrading can be done via this script,
too,
and this works for upgrades from 2.2-beta1 to 2.2-beta2.
Important: Make backups

It doesn't work currently.
The install log reads something like this:
Kolab installation tag (TAG): kolab
Kolab installation prefix (PREFIX): /kolab
Kolab version (KOLAB_VERSION): 2.2-beta2
Kolab user name (USER): kolab
Kolab user base UID (KID): 19414
Kolab restricted UID (KID): 19415
Kolab non-priviledged UID (KID): 19416
Received no instructions. Trying to determine required
action...
Found an OpenPKG environment. Assuming upgrade...
warning: unknown option -kK
FATAL: errors occured while building:
kolabd-2.1.99-20071018: kolabd has conflicting requirement
Maybe this helps the developers?

When you ran "install-kolab.sh" it took a while to
run, right?
You downloaded a file called
openpkg-20071018-20071018.src.sh and if
install-kolab.sh comleted the first step correctly, there
should exist
a binary package called something like this:
openpkg-20071018-20071018.YOUR_PLATTFORM-kolab.rpm
In my case the name is
openpkg-20071018-20071018.ix86-gentoo1.6.14-kolab.rpm
Now try to run
/kolab/bin/openpkg rpm -Uhv
openpkg-20071018-20071018.ix86-gentoo1.6.14-kolab.rpm
If this completes fine your basic OpenPKG tools should have
been
updated to the most recent version.
After that try to run
./install-kolab.sh -F -H
again
Cheers,
Gunnar

That's right.

I'll look into this tonight once I get home. Where should
this file reside?
In the temporary installation directory or in
/kolab/RPM/PKG?
Thanks, Joh
