Install Kolab on SUSE 10.2 or 10.3 - HOW ??

Hi,

Has anyone a reproducible, documented process on how to
install Kolab on
SUSE10.2 or 10.3 32-bit ? I've tried the process on
http://en.opensuse.org/K
olab but end up with a blank login screen for the
webadmin (php errors logged in apache). Close but not close
enough...

Cheers,
Diego

The native Kolab2/OpenSUSE port seems to have become less
well
maintained recently. It is in general recommended to use the
standard
Kolab2/OpenPKG version. This is after all the most tested
and reliable
version.

Bingo !

For other SUSE newbies: here's what worked for me..

1.) default install SUSE 10.3 (32-bit)
2.) download kolab into someDirectory
3.) cd someDirectory
4.) ./obmtool kolab (this took a while, amazing script)
5.) rcpostfix stop (stops smtp running because of postfix
launched by SUSE)
6.) chkconfig postfix off (don't start this postfix on next
reboot)
7.) /kolab/etc/kolab/kolab_bootstrap -b
8.) /kolab/bin/openpkg rc all start

I then was able to connect to https://thehostname/admin/

Hello

Doesn't WORK at all! Even not on SuSE 10.x and also not on
any fedora>5.
And also not with the special advisement from the wiki about
additional
steps for fedora 7&8.

Sorry to say that, but seems to be a bit buggy!

Hmm, sorry, can't be of much help here, new to it myself.
But maybe if you
explain your problem more clearly someone else might join
in... (fingers
crossed)

If this is a "code 18" problem, you should get
similar error on
FreeBSD and also on Solaris.

Wie schade!
