Hi all, So I tried the latest Beta and I like it. I'm ready to deploy to a "production" box, but I don't want to build Kolab on the target machine. I have been testing on a 64 bit machine that's pretty fast, but it still took all day long to build from scratch. Building on a lesser powered 32-bit target machine is not an appealing option, both from a time and security perspective. I need lots of software to compile Kolab that doesn't need to be there. Is there any way to compile on the fast 64-bit machine, then transfer to the i386 machine? Thanks in advance! Paul PS Any news on when version 2.2 gets out of beta? I'll wait to deploy if it won't be a long time

I don't believe that this is possible but I have to admit
that I'm not
entirely certain. The default OpenPKG installation uses the
libc from
the host environment which would prevent cross compiling.
But there
might be options to allow that with OpenPKG. You might also
try to ask
on their mailing list.

On the other hand I guess you could also compile on a dummy
32-bit
system first, save the binaries and install the real system
from these
binaries.

I wouldn't count on a fast release. But I don't really have
a good
overview at the moment. Still need to pick up after the
holidays

Cheers,
